Windows Server System Deployment Guide for MidSize Businesses with 50-250PCs

Grab a book to read on my last trip to Malaysia and never realised that I have such a good book. I think I have got the book during one of Singapore Office User Group Meetup by Tian-An.

The name of the book is "Windows Server System Deployment Guide for MidSize Businesses with 50-250PCs" by Microsoft Press

The Book actually covers Planning and Implementing Migration Strategies, deployment Core Infrastructure Services with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and a lot more! I find that this book is best suitable for Junior System Administrator as it will give a very basic yet good idea on what is required to setup the whole IT infrastructure suitable for MidSize Business. Let us look at the Table of Contents and one will know why this book is indeed very useful

Chapter 1:Planning and Implementing Migration Strategies — MUST READ!
Chapter 2:Deploying Core Infrastructure Services with Microsoft Windows Server 2003
Chapter 3:Installing and Configuring Firewalls
Chapter 4:Installing and Configuring Microsoft Exchange Server 2003
Chapter 5:Installing and Configuring Windows Server Update Services ——– Very important for IT infrastructure to have
Chapter 6:Installing and Maintaining Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 Workgroup Edition
Chapter 7:Installing and Configuring File Sharing and Print Services
Chapter 8:Installing and Configuring Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services
Chapter 9:Managing Desktops by Using Group Policy ——- My Favourite. Very basic but good to start with and learn about using Domain GPO. 🙂
Chapter 10: Enabling Remote User Access
Chapter 11: Managing the Network

One good news is you may not need to buy this book as you can download ebook off from Microsoft website as follow (FREE!)

You may be using Windows 2008 now but remember that something never change is the basic concept and fundamental. 🙂

Happy Reading!
